Community Engagement

The NRT experience goes well beyond the classroom and laboratory. NRT trainees will conduct research with farmers at the Southwest Research-Extension Center, meet with water policy makers, ​and engage with the general community.

Real rural experience - Students and faculty will spend
a week at K-State Southwest Research-Extension Center in the summer and work with farmers. 

Real policy experience - students and faculty will have a field trip to Topeka, the capital city of Kansas,  to meet policy makers. 

Public participation is important to implement our innovations in the food, energy and water systems.
